If you are interested in making CHANGE happen directly join PERIOD @Cary. This is a local chapter of the larger youth led non-profit PERIOD. The groups is currently working on a petition to remove luxury taxes on tampons, social media activism and open discussions in relation to period stigma. They have also made efforts to help the BLM movement and transgender rights. This chapter is not affiliated with Green Level, but it's the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in youth activism. Join the Remind @periodcary to 81010.
Panel Discussion: Open staff and student discussion about gender norms within the Green Level community. This will allow us to gain insights into issues in our own community and how we can fix them.
Committees (writing, art, social media)
Using writing, art, and photography to truly spark a message in the Green Level community. Through the use of creativity we hope to spread a message about what needs to change. Join our meetings to hear more about signing up!
Service Projects:
Hygiene Product Drive 2021: GELC is collected personal hygiene items such as toilet paper, toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste, deodorant, gloves, and period products to support the Women's Center of Raleigh. We donated a total of 384 hygiene items!
Fuzzy Socks Drive 2023: GELC collected and donated fuzzy socks for Layers of Dignity, a Raleigh based non-profit that helps sexual assault victims.
Projects:
